Some friends or family members need a little extra help. Whether they’re getting older or have medical issues, assistance with things like grocery shopping and travel to appointments may become necessary.
There is often a network of people who are available to help, and creating a BeLooped group to organize and coordinate them can be greatly beneficial to everyone involved.
Tip: Be conscientious when naming your group. We’ve found that innocuous names such as “Elaine’s People” are a better choice than group names such as “Elaine’s caregivers.”
One or more members of the caregiving group may not own a mobile device or the BeLooped application. These people can still be part of the group as Private or Visible members (managed by the GM or other members), or invited at a later time.
Helpful Resources may include: doctors, dentists, podiatrists, physiotherapists, heart specialists, opticians, pharmacies, concierges, the grocery store, favourite restaurants, links to information on medical issues, and more.
The News tab is a convenient way to share announcements such as upcoming appointments, outings, pill schedules, and notes from meetings with specialists.
News is formal and under control of the group’s owner (although members can write and submit news stories). Forum is quick, informal and can be used by anyone in the group without needing the group’s owner to approve.
Use the Forum for communicating emergency information or short notice changes to a plan. At the end of a visit, make a note of things you’ve noticed such as: a change in condition, an item that needs repair or cleaning, groceries and other supplies that need to be brought during the next visit, etc.
